During the day on the Sunday and Monday, Thatcham Historical Society held an exhibition on local history, specifically focusing on the monarchy, with various items of memorabilia and photographs from over the years on display.  This was very well attended.

In one of his final few engagements, Thatcham Mayor Jeff Brooks, also unveiled a plaque dedicated to Councillor Barbara Collins Wootton, who in 2004 was instrumental in saving the Old Bluecoat school from being sold, helping to ensure it was restored and remained for the benefit of the community.

This was followed in the evening of the 8th with a talk by Dr Nick Young on Thatcham Then and Now.

The public also kindly donated to the door restoration fund project, which is also available on the Good Exchange Renew Front Doors.
