The Trustees presented Ali Watkinson with a rose bush on 29th May to mark the occasion of her standing down from her role as OBS Administrator after five and a half years.  Ali organised the Booking of hirers, Finance, Publicity, Social events and much more, for which we have been very grateful.

Work started on installing the doors on Tuesday 7th May and they look fantastic. There is still a lot of painting & decorating required to finish off the whole porch project and this will be completed over the coming days, weeks & months. In the meantime we are absolutely delighted with the workmanship on these

We have a date confirmed for the installation of our new oak doors. Work will take place between the 6th-10th May. In readiness for this we have primed the frames and will hopefully get an undercoat on before the work starts. Not long now!

With winter now over, we have started on preparations for our new doors, which will be installed in the next couple of months. Removing 100 years of paint from the frame is proving to be quite a challenge, not least because we have been trying to avoid the wet weather, but we are getting there.

Work is progressing well on replacing our old oak doors Thanks to some generous donations from individuals and organizations, including match funding from Greenham Trust’s Good Exchange, we have exceeded our target of £10,000. All the plans have been approved, and we have now appointed a contractor, with the work scheduled to take place in Spring

Another successful festival week was held with three different events running at the Bluecoat School. We started off hosting the Art Exhibition, followed by Mark T’s evening concert and wrapped up with the Photographic exhibition. These were all well attended, with positive feedback from visitors.

During the day on the Sunday and Monday, Thatcham Historical Society held an exhibition on local history, specifically focusing on the monarchy, with various items of memorabilia and photographs from over the years on display.  This was very well attended.   In one of his final few engagements, Thatcham Mayor Jeff Brooks, also unveiled a plaque
